A quarterbeef will typically be 175 pounds of hanging weight and 90-100 pounds of packaged take-home meat depending on how much fat and bone is trimmed out.
This is usually enough to last a family for about a year and the meat will keep safely in your freezer for at least that long. Cuts usually include:
